Research utilizing data from the ATN Registry has resulted in published studies in peer review publications including the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, Pediatrics and the Journal of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.
As a result of ATN and AIR-P funded research, 18 studies have been completed on various autism-related topics such as:
- Nutrition and obesity
- Sleep disorders,
- Metabolic, genetic and gastrointestinal concerns
- Neurological and behavioral outcomes
- Communication deficits and services.
In addition, the first and only guidelines for management of constipation, sleep and ADHD symptoms in ASD (Pediatrics Supplement, 2012) was developed and published through AIR-P funded efforts (link to AIR-P page). Two additional practice guidelines for irritability and agitation and anxiety management were submitted to the 2015 Pediatrics Supplement.
