Meet Maddy K.

Championing the next generation: Maddy K., 17

You might think everyone is looking at your but you are going to be okay.

On the basketball court at Pickerington North High School in Ohio, Maddy K. is tenacious, outspoken, dominant, and as her mom, Ruth, would say, “a beast on the court.” Off the hardwood, she’s soft spoken, more of an introvert and emotes a strong yet quiet confidence, often only allowing those within her inner circle to see the many layers of her personality.

In this World Autism Month feature, you’ll meet Maddy, an autistic high school junior who continues to make a name for herself on the court while building a bright future for herself in the classroom and beyond.
