UIC’s Department of Disability and Human Development

UPDATED: February 25, 2019

At UIC’s Department of Disability and Human Development, the values of cultural diversity, self-determination, and equal citizenship of people with disabilities underpin our training, public service and research activities. At the Developmental Disabilities Family Clinic, we work with children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families to get the support and services they need. At the Assistive Technology Unit, we provide commercially-available, modified, and custom-designed equipment to help maximize independence. The Chicagoland Entrepreneurship Education for People with Disabilities (CEED) project is an interdisciplinary effort to help and support people with disabilities in pursuing entrepreneurship as a pathway to employment.
