UPDATED: August 27, 2019
Dr. Amanda Keating & Associates is a practice specializing in parenting and life solutions for families supporting children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, or Social Pragmatic Disorder.
We provide are one of the few practices in the state with clinicians trained to administer the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition (ADOS-2) and the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R) in research. These instruments are often considered to be the "gold standard" in assessments of autism. We provide assessments for children as well as adults. The ADOS-2 Toddler Module can be used with toddlers who have a developmental age of 12 months, and we've also completed assessments on individuals over 65. Dr. Keating also provides forensic evaluations (e.g. those evaluations used in legal proceedings) for adults who have been charged with a crime and who are also suspected to have autism. She has served as an expert witness in a variety of cases where the assessment, diagnosis, or treatment of an individual with autism is relevant.
In addition to our evaluation services, our practice provides therapy and treatment for individuals and families. We provide a variety of social skills, therapy, and applied behavior analysis interventions including: the Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®) program for adults, teens, and tweens; the Secret Agent Society program for children age 7-12, Skillstreaming for preschoolers, and others. Monthly progress notes are provided to the teachers, primary care physicians, and other people important to our clients. We offer in-person and remote interventions.
For families and parents of adults, we offer assistance in navigating the “adult” world of supports including applications to Vocational Rehabilitation, Agency for Persons with Disabilities, Social Security, Guardianship Advocacy, Special Needs Trusts and others. We are Vocational Rehabilitation providers, and we also assist adults with autism to develop a career path and become successful in a professional setting.
Dr. Keating is a licensed psychologist and doctoral level board certified analyst (BCBA-D). She has taught graduate specific classes in autism, and she was previously an assistant professor at the Sanford School of Medicine.
