Hablemos Autismo: Congresista Henry Cuellar
En este episodio especial en celebración de nuestro Mes Nacional de la Herencia Hispana, nuestro presentador, Tony Hernández Pumarejo tuvo el honor y privilegio de entrevistar al Congresista por el distrito 28 del estado de Texas, el representante Henry Cuellar (D-TX). El congresista Cuellar ha trabajado como educador, abogado y propietario de pequeñas empresas, además de sus puestos en el gobierno estatal y federal. Cuellar fue elegido por primera vez al Congreso en 2005 y ahora cumple su décimo mandato. El congresista ocupa importantes puestos de liderazgo, incluido el de miembro de alto rango del Comité de Asignaciones de la Cámara de Representantes de los EE. UU. y también es copresidente del Caucus de Autismo del Congreso.
Durante la entrevista, el congresista nos va compartir un poco de su historia de vida antes de postularse a puesto electivo, sobre los retos que las familias que tienen seres queridos con Autismo enfrentan en su distrito congresional y la comunidad hispana en los Estados Unidos. Hablemos Autismo: Congressman Henry Cuellar
In this special episode in celebration of our National Hispanic Heritage Month, our host, Tony Hernández Pumarejo had the honor and privilege of interviewing Congressman for the 28th district of the state of Texas, Representative Henry Cuellar (D-TX). Congressman Cuellar has worked as an educator, attorney, and small business owner in addition to his positions in state and federal government. Cuellar was first elected to Congress in 2005 and is now serving his 10th term. The congressman holds important leadership positions, including ranking member of the U.S. House Appropriations Committee and is also co-chair of the Congressional Autism Caucus.
During the interview, the congressman will share a little bit of his life story before running for elective office, the challenges that families who have loved ones with Autism face in his congressional district and the Hispanic community in the United States. Lastly, we will be discussing current efforts being made in Congress on behalf of the American community and how the Autism Caucus is leading those efforts.
