In honor of World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, CSU Channel Islands will hold its eighth annual “Light It Up Blue” autism awareness event from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in front of the John Spoor Broome Library. The library, mall and Bell Tower will be lit up blue for the event.

This is a FREE community event and all ages are welcome to attend.

“Light It Up Blue” is a global initiative to celebrate United Nations World Autism Awareness Day. On April 2 the international goal is to shine a blue light on communities throughout the world to raise awareness and take action for autism.

The event will also provide a community resource fair, speeches by students and parents living with autism. The resource fair will involve groups offering support services from the campus and community, including the Autism Society of Ventura County, regional service providers, and CSUCI’s Disability Accommodations and Support Services.

Our Autism Response Team (ART) is specially trained to connect people with autism, their families, and caretakers to information, tools, and resources.
