The First Tee of Greater Charlotte will be hosting a weekly #GameOn Autism Golf program! Below are the details. We would love to get the word out on our program to grow it!
When: Class will meet every Tuesday from 5-6pm from March 5th and go until April 23rd. (8 weeks!)
Where: The Dr. Charles L. Sifford Golf Course (2661 Barringer Drive, Charlotte NC)
Who: The class will be open to golfers between the ages of 6-30 and space is limited (participants grouped by age)
What: Ernie Els #GameOn Autism™ Golf is a program developed by Els for Autism in collaboration with PGA REACH and The First Tee, that gives children and young adults on the autism spectrum access to the game of golf. The program is aimed at developing social/communication skills, encouraging social interaction and promoting healthy living through golf. Infused with evidence-based practices for teaching golf to individuals with ASD, #GameON Autism Golf is designed to build self-esteem and confidence in a fun, welcoming and supportive environment. The program encourages participants to learn golf skills while practicing specific autism learning objectives, including: communication, regulatory, motor and social skills.
Cost: $50 for the season ****Full and partial financial aid are available!
Who leads class?: Class will be led by myself (Brittnay Cross) with help from other trained coaches.
Equipment can be provided to participants free of charge. ***Participants are welcome to bring their own equipment as well***
