Why I Walk - For Pride and Love

Wednesday, September 5, 2012 Autism Speaks View Comments

Jennifer Sheridan lives with her small, beautiful family in Nashville, TN. She is Tennessee's 2012 Volunteer Advocacy Chair for Autism Votes.

My little boy Charlie is the sparkliest kid I know. I work hard every single day to try to make the world a more welcoming and supportive place for him and for all of our friends on the autism spectrum -- kids, teens and adults – and the families who love them.  Walk Now for Autism Speaks brings a wonderful awareness of autism spectrum disorder to people across the United States and Canada, and with that awareness comes better understanding. I walk for Autism Speaks to show the world that although there is much work to be done, there is great pride and much love in our community. Charlie has autism, and he is an amazing, full-of-life little boy, and I am so lucky to be his mother.
