Autism Speaks' Grantees Receive $30M to Pursue Novel Molecular-based Therapeutics for Fragile X and Autism

Seaside Therapeutics has announced that private venture investors have committed millions more dollars to further the development of novel therapeutics for Fragile X and related disorders, including autism. Approximately one third of individuals with Fragile X also have an autism diagnosis.

Autism Speaks and its predecessor organizations have been strong advocates of biological treatment approaches and have supported these efforts by grants to Seaside Therapeutics and its associated collaborators in order for them to extend their exciting efforts into autism. The newest funds will now allow Seaside Therapeutics to proceed with mid-stage clinical trial development, with the ultimate aim of treating autism at the molecular level.
