NAAR Announces Start of New Funding Cycle for Pilot and Grant Awards
September 28, 2005

NAAR is pleased to announce the availability of pilot grant awards in autism research, with a funding start date of July, 2006. Last year, NAAR awarded over $4.5 million to pilot grants to study the causes, prevention, treatment and cure for autism. These included funding for studies involving biomedical research, exploration into the understanding of and improvement of language and communication abilities of individuals with autism and a new interdisciplinary research grant for two investigators working together studying both a basic and clinical science. Two-year awards range from $120,000 to $300,000 and are carefully reviewed by NAAR's distinguished Scientific Advisory Board. We invite researchers in autism spectrum disorders to visit the grants website at http://www.naar.org/research/research.asp to view the letter of intent and application deadlines and look forward to funding excellent research in the future.
