More than 500 walkers participated in Terre Haute Walk Now For Autism Speaks on Saturday, September 21 at the Vigo County Fairgrounds. The morning was a bit brisk, but we had gorgeous blue skies for our walkers and volunteers. Along with our families and friends, we had over 10 Resource Fair participants and Sponsors engaging with the crowds. The South Vigo football team led us in our pre-walk warm up, as well as played games and football with the kids. We had our 6 amazing Grand Club members up on stage to be recognized for their great efforts and they were near the front of the line to start the walk. The football players held our banner and led the group through the “Walk Start Balloon Arch” to send us on our way for the Walk. It was a beautiful and amazing day for all!
To date, the event raised more than $45,000 in support of Autism Speaks’ mission to fund research, increase awareness and family services and advocate for individuals with autism and their families.
