Kansas LEPC Recommends Passage of 2009 Kate's Law

TOPEKA (November 21, 2008) -- The Kansas Legislative Educational Planning Committee (LEPC) voted today to endorse Kate's Law and introduce it as a committee bill to be heard in the 2009 legislative session.  This is the best possible outcome that the Kansas autism community could have asked for at this stage of the process.

The LEPC recommended that Kate's Law be "double referred" which means that it will be referred to, and must pass out of, two separate committees before it is heard by the body of the legislature.   It will go to both an Insurance Committee and a Health Committee.
Congratulations to our Kansas Chapter Advocacy Chair, Mike Wasmer, and the whole Kansas Autism Community for making such great strides towards getting passage of Kate's Law!
