Last year, Autism Speaks awarded nearly $24,000 in funding to a nonprofit organization in Austin, Texas to empower 100 underserved Spanish-speaking families of children with autism through a 7 session Autism Course for Caregivers, monthly support groups, family fun days and supportive case management - all in Spanish!

Very few childcare centers are structured to support children with autism. An Autism Speaks grant of $14,000 helped work to change that through training sessions for early childcare providers, as well as a curriculum focused on understanding the unique differences of children with autism and using best practices to support them.

In 2014, Autism Speaks provided a grant of $25,000 to JFCS of Greater Philadelphia to develop a quality of life assessment for adults with autism. Assessing the quality of life of adults with autism allows service providers and family members to make sure they have access to the best possible services and can lead happy and fulfilling lives.
