With funding from Autism Speaks, child care providers were invited to attend training sessions on supporting children on the spectrum. In addition, more than 300 early childhood educators and parents attended a conference to learn more about understanding autism.

One last reminder for parents: you are the expert on your child. No one else. Not your child's doctor, his teacher, his therapist and certainly not Great Aunt Gussie who raised 10 kids of her own and has loud opinions on yours.
