Autism Speaks advocates rallied in Des Moines this week to push for autism insurance reform. The February 4th rally was held in conjunction with Autism Society of Iowa's Autism Awareness and Acceptance Day with hundreds in attendance, including individuals with autism, their families and service providers.

According to a recent report by The State Journal-Register, Illinois families impacted by autism are already feeling the effects of a state budget impasse. Gov. Bruce Rauner and the General Assembly have been unable to approve a 2016 fiscal budget, resulting in lack or delay of services for individuals who need them the most.
