The diverse abilities program at the YMCA is a unique, individualized program delivered in both group and private lesson formats utilizing an evidence-based curriculum specifically designed to meet the needs of all participants. This program is designed to positively impact safety and swim skill, as well as leisure participation and socialization opportunities. This program will be overseen by a certified recreation therapist, with consultation with an occupational therapy doctoral student. This program strives to deliver individualized, family-centered instruction to best serve the needs of each participant.
