Northwest College Support

UPDATED: July 31, 2019

We address the internal emotional growth skills necessary through counseling, we address the academic and general life skills necessary through specific coaches that are trained to help students learn the skills of college success. Some of our students are working with us as they attempt college for the first time, others have already struggled in college and need a fresh start.

Here at Northwest College Support, we offer an attainable and unique individualized approach to living your best life as a young adult with moderate to high functioning autism spectrum disorder. The pillars of our program include;

Therapy and case management-
Master’s degree level therapists and case managers
Psychiatric care-
Consultation and continuity of care plan with local psychiatrists as needed
Life skills coaching and independent living-
Activities of daily living
Meal planning and preparation
Nutrition coaching with a nurse nutrition consultant as needed
Education coaching and tutoring-
Admissions, scheduling, working cohesively with school counselors, time management and personal tutoring
Primary vocational rehabilitation opportunities-
Introduction to the workforce with a NWCS computer repair shop open to our local community
Community integration with social activities and team building exercises-
Boating on the lake, skiing and snowboarding, hiking, swimming, flag football, and many other various social activities.

We offer independent living situations in an apartment building within walking distance to our headquarters, support services, and North Idaho College which is located in beautiful downtown Coeur D’Alene Idaho. While we foster an environment with exceptional support and a variety of tools, the student has complete autonomy as to how much he/she participates in the program. Family support is incredibly important to the success of the student and weekly progress check ins are normally conducted between therapists and enrolling parent/guardian.

At Northwest College Support we believe that together as a team we can bring young adults with autism spectrum disorder to a platform where they are prepared to live a productive, fulfilling and independent life.
