Jill's House Windy City

Jill's House

UPDATED: January 18, 2019

Jill's House Weekend Adventures is a three-day camp experience for children with intellectual disabilities, where they get to enjoy an incredible weekend just for them, while their families receive some much-needed respite. At Weekend Adventures, special children (ages 6-17) create memories and friendships through activities like hayrides, hikes, crafts, games, talent shows, ropes courses, campfires and more. At the same time, they are surrounded by caring and committed onsite medical personnel, child care specialists, staff, and one-on-one buddies that ensure every detail is managed and every unique need is met so parents can enjoy a worry-free break. Meals, accommodations, activities, and full-time care are all included, making this all-inclusive weekend a stress-relieving time for everyone.

Camps are scheduled throughout the year, and the cost for families is just $170 per child for the weekend. (The remaining cost of camp, which exceeds $600 per person, is covered through fundraising and donations.) Scholarship applications are available for families in need. Our 2019 Weekends are: March 22-24, May 31-June 2, August 23-25, and October 25-27.

Weekend Adventures begin on Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock pm. Parents bring their children to Libertyville Covenant Church and complete check-in. Campers are then provided transportation to Covenant Harbor Camp in Lake Geneva, WI where they will stay at camp for the weekend. Campers arrive safely back to Libertyville Covenant Church on Sunday at 1:30pm where their parents will check-out and pick them up.
