UPDATED: December 8, 2020

At Children’s Dental Center of Central Iowa, Dr. Jim Shealy and our team understand the importance of our role: we want to help your child develop excellent oral health and a great attitude about dental care, and to feel valued! We really do want you and your kids to feel welcome here. From the time children walk in to the last goodbye, it is our goal that your child’s dental visit be as pleasant and fun as possible. Children learn and deal with their world through play. Because of that, you will see many opportunities for kids to play in our office. Dr. Shealy is playful with kids to establish a relationship with them from their very first visit. You will find that the doctor frequently interacts with children more than with parents. Our goal is to make our office a place that children understand is specifically for them, not just another adult environment that they are expected to adapt to. Learning from an early age that seeing the dentist is fun and enjoyable sets a great foundation for the rest of their life. The state-of-the-art care we offer includes: Dental exams and cleanings, and fillings for infants, children, teens, and young adults Solea® Dental Laser DIAGNOdent laser cavity screenings Pain prevention and dental nitrous Sealants, fluoride, and mouthguards Tongue / lip tie release Sports dentistry Care for pediatric dental emergencies Children’s Dental Center of Central Iowa in Urbandale welcomes patients from Waukee, West Des Moines, Clive, and throughout the Midwest.
