Adaptive Sports Foundation, Inc.
UPDATED: April 18, 2019
The Adaptive Sports Foundation empowers individuals with disabilities through outdoor physical activity. Students have disabilities ranging from learning disabilities to congenital and inherited disorders, amputation, traumatic brain injury, and autism. ASF promotes physical, cognitive, and emotional fitness through winter programs for skiing, snowboarding and cross country.
Sensory Friendly Ski & Snowboard is an integrated program that provides fitness and social opportunities for individuals on the spectrum and centers on skiing and snowboarding. The Senior Sliders is a social club for adult students with autism who meet every weekend. Younger students work to join our Junior Sliders program; a transition program that helps them become independent enough to take their lessons with the mainstream snowsports school. The ASF supports an active Special Olympics program with six team members with autism.
