Caregiver Perspectives On Access to Routine Dental Care for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Participate in Research
Application Summary
Sophia Hernandez and I are dental student researchers at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. Previous studies have shown that children with Autism have more difficulty getting dental care compared to the national pediatric average. We would like to help address this issue, by asking caregivers what makes it harder and easier to get their child with Autism dental care. We invite you to participate in a COMPLETELY ANONYMOUS study exploring caregiver’s perspectives. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. The survey will address your dental experiences with children with ASD, and your opinions about how dentists can impact accessibility. Please click the link below to access the ANONYMOUS survey (or copy and paste the link into your Internet browser). Link: https://cumc.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bvCHqdRXBoA7QayBy participating in this research, you may be able to: ● contribute to the improvement of accessibility of dental services for children with ASD● contribute to the enhancement of providers’ knowledge of caregivers’ perspectivesYour participation is completely voluntary. All information will be collected anonymously. This survey has been approved by Columbia University’s Institutional Review Board. If you have any questions about the research or about your rights while taking part in this study, please contact the study's advisors or Columbia University’s Institutional Review Board.
