(May 11, 2014) -- Two Walk Now for Autism Speaks events were held on Saturday to help raise funds and awareness for autism. The walks were the Greater Waterbury Walk Now for Autism Speaks in Conneticut and Denver Walk Now for Autism Speaks in Colorado.
More than 3,000 attendees participated in our Greater Waterbury Walk Now for Autism Speaks on Saturday, May 10 at Library Park in Waterbury, CT. Liz Feld, Autism Speaks President, joined the crowd as they danced, sang and celebrated the “Autism Superhero” themed day before walking 1.5 miles around downtown Waterbury. Almost 100 teams, and a full marching band, filled the streets of the Brass City. To date, the event raised more than $110,000 in support of Autism Speaks’ mission to fund research, increase awareness and family services and advocate for individuals with autism and their families.
