Theft Leads Massachusetts Town to Buy Boy with Autism a New iPad

August 24, 2013

Sarah Cardoso’s son Ryan is 3 ½ and has autism. Over a week ago the Cardoso family son’s iPad was stolen while it was charging in Sarah’s car. Later Sarah took to social media to share her disgust in the incident. 8 days later, their community in Stoughton, Mass., came together to buy her son a brand new iPad. The iPad was delivered to their home by local police department Deputy Chief Robert Devine.

Sarah said on receiving the gift for her son, “Words cannot express how appreciative we are to receive such a generous gift. You have given back my son more than just a device, you have given him his voice back.”
