Texas Rangers Show Off Autism Awareness "Uniforms"

April 15, 2015

Tuesday was a memorable day at Global Life Park for the Texas Rangers Autism Awareness Game in honor of Autism Awareness Month this April. In attendance were 90 of our families who received discounted tickets to attend the game!

As part of the highlights of the evening included an interview with Fox Sports Southwest which aired during the game where our Manager of Field Development for Dallas/Fort Worth Nicole Vazquez talked about Autism Speaks national partnership with the MLB.

In addition, thanks to Tanner Sheppers the entire Texas Rangers team helped light it up blue for autism awareness by wearing our “Shine a Light on Autism” shirts during their warm-ups.

When the game began it started with the inaugural first pitch that was thrown by Barron McClure who is a young boy on the autism spectrum. Barron’s mother is the co-host for Good Morning Texas on ABC and is an Honorary Chair for the Dallas Fort/Worth Walk Now for Autism Speaks event.
