Temple Grandin to Parents: Don't Delay, Work With Your Kids Early

Temple Grandin, autism activist, writer and professor, offered advice to parents who have children they suspect are on the spectrum, but who do not yet have a diagnosis: work with them now. 

"The worst thing you can do is to do nothing. Yes, it would be good to get a diagnosis but if you can't, you need to start working with that kid now," Grandin told The Clarion-Ledger. "Teach them words. You've got to work with them, interacting with them."

"The worst thing you can do is let them sit in a corner, rocking, tuning out," Grandin added.
