Cordish Companies, a leading real estate developer in Baltimore, partnered with Autism Speaks National Capital Area to host a breakfast on May 20th at their location in the Inner Harbor. The breakfast provided corporate executives and key supporters a chance to network and learn more about autism, how the disorder can impact a company and its employees and opportunities for involvement with Autism Speaks, such as the 2015 Baltimore Walk Now for Autism Speaks, taking place on November 14th at M&T Bank Stadium.
A range of participants were represented at the breakfast including those from the healthcare and food/beverage industry as well as those from educational institutions and other agencies. Alex Fine from the Cordish Companies welcomed attendees and Autism Speaks’ Baltimore sponsors and team leads explained why they continue to partner with the local chapter from a personal standpoint and from a business perspective. The three speakers, PJ Shafer from the Shafer Center, Brian Krueger from McCormick & Company and Pat Skerry, the men’s basketball coach for Towson University, all encouraged attendees to become involved on the local level to support the greater mission, changing the future for all who struggle with autism.
