Tampa Bay Walk Now for Autism Speaks 2015

April 10, 2015

More than 8,500 people participated in the Tampa Bay Walk for Autism Speaks. The walk was held on April 11 at Tropicana Field- home of the Tampa Bay Rays, just over a week after World Autism Awareness Day.

Walkers were joined by DJ Kitty and player Jake McGee from the Tampa Bay Rays, who helped kick off the walk. Also in attendance were sponsors Outback Steakhouse, Raymond James, Tampa Bay Rays, SunTrust Bank, and Behavioral Consulting of Tampa Bay who all spoke about the importance of Autism Awareness and supporting Autism Speaks.

Guests in attendance were able to participate in activities such as inflatable pitching games, face painting, a drum circle, acts showcasing those with autism, and a juggling performance put on by two members of the Flying Wallendas, all while parents had the opportunity to find great resources and information in our Resource area.

The Walk raised more than $ 268,000 benefitting Autism Speaks. And a very great day to celebrating those with autism and their families!
