Saks Fifth Avenue Goes Blue for Autism Awareness Month!

April 20, 2015

This year Saks Fifth Avenue in Palm Beach, Florida, went blue in honor of World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, and Autism Awareness Month.

Coordinator of Field Development for our West Palm Beach Office Melissa DiNuzzo wrote about their involvement in Light It Up Blue...

"You may not know, but very little of Worth Avenue participated in our Light It Up Blue Campaign, however we have one new friend over there: Saks Fifth Avenue Palm Beach. They reached out to us and showed us what they were doing and why they are doing it.

Quite simply the images and the motivation are just beautiful. One of their department managers has a 14-year old non-verbal daughter with autism. She shared with us how almost no one in the store knew about her daughter, until their general manager started Light it Up Blue a few years ago. She shared her story with him, and since then they have been doing what they can for LIUB and autism awareness. This year, all their arches have blue lights, their windows each have our LIUB logo and a beautiful display of blue merchandise.

All because of one employee who was brave enough to share the story of her daughter.

Not only are they participating, but they are participating ALL MONTH! Go by and check it out!"

The Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store in New York City also went blue!
