Robin Williams Death Shines Spotlight on Importance of Reaching Out

(August 14, 2014) - The tragic death of beloved actor Robin Williams earlier this week has led to a surge in calls to crisis support hotlines. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline saw the greatest number of calls in its history Monday, the day Williams passed away. His death brought national attention the the importance of reaching out for resources and support for those battling mental illness. 

The National Suicide Prevention Line is a 24-hour, toll free, confidential suicide prevention hotline available toa nyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. Learn more at or call 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
