March 08, 2015
WEST PALM BEACH, FLA.  -- More than 7,000 people kicked off the Autism Speaks 2015 Walk Season by attending the Palm Beach Walk Now for Autism Speaks. Today's walk was held at the Meyer Ampitheater in downtown West Palm Beach, and comes just days after Autism Speaks marked 10 years in existance.

Co-Founders of Autism Speaks Bob and Suzanne Wright were in attendance to kick off the Walk season. Mrs. Wright urged the crowd to tell their stories of life with autism to "ignite ideas and inspire" as we approach World Autism Awareness Day on April 2.

WPTV news anchor Michael Williams emceed the event which included students from Potentia Academy and the Lake Worth High School Color Guard who led the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Guests in attendance included Congressman Patrick E. Murphy (D-Fla.), Congresswoman Lois Frankel (D-Fla) and West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio who presented the Wrights with a proclamation to recognize "Autism Speaks Day" in Palm Beach.

When all was said and done the Walk raised more than $400,000 for Autism Speaks. Watch coverage of the event from WPTV above.
