Our autism community visits Legoland!

August 06, 2015

iHeart Media West Palm Beach, Wayne Akers Ford, Legoland Florida’s Merlin’s Magic Wand Charity and of course us, teamed up to take around 60 families on a trip of a life time! Families consisted of 1 child on the spectrum from the age of 4-12 and one parent. This is the first time we have coordinated something of this nature and it was a huge success!

We all met at 7am at Wayne Akers Ford where we loaded 3 charter buses and headed to Winter Park! Brooklyn Water Bagels provided bagels and cream cheese for our ride up, whereas Subway provided turkey subs to our whole group for lunch! We were able to spend a little over 4 hours in the park where Legoland provided each group with our own personal tour guide… which came with perks as we got to go into the “fast” lane and skip long lines for rides! We were taken to the imagination zone where the children were able to play with Lego robots, and create their own masterpieces! We also saw Battle for Brickbeard’s Bounty show in Ski Stadium!

Upon arrival back to Wayne Akers Ford, we were greeted by a food truck serving up chicken strips, Sloppy Joe’s, hotdogs and French Fries!

All in all it was an awesome day, and we can’t wait to do it again next year! Read more about the event here.
