May 06, 2014

(May 6, 2014) -- A special moment happened last week at Corinith Holders High School in Wendell, North Carolina when two high school seniors on the autism spectrum were crowned King and Queen of their prom. Both Brian Smith and Alexis Adams have made tremendous progress during their time at Cornith Holders and were overjoyed by the acknowledgement.

Alexis said of being named Prom Queen, "I was happy. I was so happy, I couldn't stop smiling." Brian also said of being named Prom King, "Everybody, everybody voted for me! I'm the king of 2014... Not Brian no more, I'm the King!"

Alexis and Brian were voted Prom King and Queen based on the votes of their peers. You can watch the announcement of their win in the video above!
