New York Mets support our community: 2016 Autism Awareness Game

May 02, 2016

On Sunday the New York a Mets hosted their annual Autism Awareness Game. Families braved the rain to take part in the pre-game festivities hosted by Autism Speaks and other local service providers. The game also featured a sensory friendly activity zone with help from our friends at the Atlas Foundation.

The ceremonial first pitch was thrown out by 8-year-old Anthony Luca and his dad Anthony Ardolino. Dad, Anthony, is a Chief in the New York City Department of Sanitation, and has been a critical force in driving the department’s annual autism awareness and fundraising campaign during the month of April.  Anthony Luca was joined on the field by his mom Dana and sister Bella. Christopher Jackson, star of the Broadway hit Hamilton, joined in the pregame celebration as well!
