Man with Autism Killed by Punch to the Head

February 27, 2014

Andrew Young, a 40-year-old with autism from England, lost his life after a single punch to the head last November. The punch was thrown during an argument between Young and a man named Lewis Gill. The men were arguing about riding a bicycle on the sidewalk when Gill threw the punch.

The punch was captured on closed circuit TV. Gill pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison. At the trial, Young's mother testifed that her son was "very particular" about bicycle safety.
