Katy Perry "Lip Dub" Event Created to Spread Autism Awareness

(May 8, 2014) -- Michael Whary, a boy scout from Amherst, Ohio is hosting an event to spread awareness for autism in his community. On May 18th, Michael along with the help of Boy Scouts Troop 120 will be filming a "Lip Dub" singing the song "Roar" by Katy Perry. Michael's goal with the video is to spread hope and encouragement for individuals on the autism spectrum.

If you are interested in being part of the Lip Dub the event will be held at Children's Development Center on 150 Erie Ct in Amherst. Registration will begin at 12:30 PM while filming will begin at 3 PM. For more information on how you can get involved in the event you can call Michael at 440-225-8693.

This is just one example of members from our community singing Katy Perry's hit song Roar. Last year we featured Jack Robbins, an eight-year-old boy with autism from Frisco, Texas who is nonverbal and sang the song. You can Listen to Jack's rendition below...
