IOM Reports on Vaccines and Autism

Latest Study Finds No Association

The Institute of Medicine (IOM) of the National Academies has issued its latest report examining whether vaccines, specifically the measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine and those containing the preservative, thimerosal, are linked to the cause of autism.

NAAR supports continued research into all theories of what causes autism, including whether childhood vaccines increase the risk for autism, and encourages researchers to submit proposals in this area. NAAR aggressively seeks to fund projects that meet the standards of our Scientific Advisory Board.
