UK band Wet Wet Wet were recently caught on video performing an impromptu duet with an 11-year-old boy with autism. The band visited a music therapy program run by non-profit Nordoff Robbins.
The band walked into a music therapy session with Romano, picked up the instruments and started playing their hit song, Love is All Around, and Romano joined in. Watch their performance below.
According to Nordoff Robbins, Romano has been attending music therapy for 5 years and it has “helped him hugely with personal skills (building confidence and reducing anxiety), developing cognitive skills (increasing self-awareness and speech development) and physical co-ordination.”
You can find a music therapy program and other services offered in your state via the Autism Speaks Resource Guide.
