Great night at the 4th Annual Boots and Bow Ties Gala!

June 12, 2015

The 4th annual Boots and Bow Ties Gala was another great success in raising awareness and funds for autism. Guests gathered on June 5th at the beautiful Hutton Hotel in Nashville Tennessee wearing their boots and bow ties, ready for a great night of fun. Over 70 auction items were displayed including sports and music artist memorabilia, trip excursions, spa vouchers, gift cards and many more to over 75 guests.

During the seated dinner, guests listened to a brief program that highlighted Autism Speaks 10 Years of Progress by Maeghan Pawley, Manager Community Outreach from Autism Speaks, and also highlighted local Tennessee Autism Speaks grant recipients such as Easter Seals Tennessee. During the program, Mike Wasmer, Director of State Government Affairs discussed state and federal advocacy efforts and presented Representative Kevin Brooks of the 24th district with the 2015 Legislative Champion award for his dedication, perseverance and leadership towards meaningful autism insurance coverage for the state of Tennessee.

Guests finished the night by kicking up their boots and dancing the night away with music from The Pilots and rounding out silent auction bids and a candy bar as a desert to go. Special thanks to our sponsors: Acxiom, HCA, Swift Curry, Autism Votes, Modern Babies & Children, Kohl’s Volunteers, Kroger, harpist Samantha, The Pilots, and event Photographers: Annie & Lillian and lastly our Chair & Co-Chair, Deanna Nelson & Lisa Burgess.
