Girl gets whole town to Light It Up Blue for autism awareness

March 18, 2016

Kate who is just 10-years-old is an autism advocate with a passion for helping others. Recently we had the opportunity to spotlight her story on how she will Light It Up Blue! Kate started getting involved with the cause because of her 8-year-old brother Michael who is on the autism spectrum. Kate to help people like her brother for the past few years has spread autism awareness through Light It Up Blue and World Autism Awareness Day.  This year in celebration of Light It Up Blue she is going to local businesses in her town asking them to go blue along with holding “blue party” events.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Kate shine a light on our autism community. Last year during Autism Speaks Sibling Week Kate came into our office with her mother Jeanie to share why when she grows up she wants to be an autism advocate and be a part of Autism Speaks.
