Georgia Chapter of Autism Speaks hosts 4th annual Southern Pieces Gala

September 27, 2016

The Georgia Chapter of Autism Speaks hosted its 4th annual Southern Pieces Gala on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Marietta Country Club in Kennesaw, GA. The event raised almost $75,000. The gala planning committee, chaired by Colleen Sullivan, welcomed a sold out crowd of 170 guests for a southern inspired menu beginning with a VIP Bourbon reception for corporate sponsors. The VIP hour was DJ'd by Grammy award winning producer, Needlz. Guests mixed and mingled while browsing through several dozen silent auction items - from date night packages, technology gadgets, sports memorabilia, trips, spa get-aways & a raffle prize of a large Big Green Egg + accessories, some amazing items were up for grabs.

The program highlighted local families involved with Autism Speaks and the impact Family Services has had on them personally through grants, resources, tool kits and/or the Autism Response Team. The program was followed up by a Fund the Mission ask which raised $12,000 in less than 10 minutes. The evening wrapped with an enticing live auction which included a Behind the Scenes tour at Turner Sports, a VIP Package to the Macy's Day Parade and Hall of Fame sports memorabilia followed by the much anticipated raffle for the Big Green Egg.
