Families enjoy an autism-friendly Blue Man Group show in Orlando

December 08, 2015

On Saturday, December 5, there was an autism friendly performance at the Blue Man Group in Orlando  an unforgettable experience for our families.

“I myself wanted to hug the Blue Man for giving us a moment and memory that we weren't sure when or if we'd get to experience with Lucas. Still brings tears to my eyes. Thank you just doesn't seem like it's enough but thank you to The Blue Man Group and Autism Speaks for this opportunity.”- Patti Cristi

The Blue Man Group modified the show to include reducing sounds and light levels at various moments during the performance and making earplugs available upon request.  The Blue Men also made changes to the way they interacted with the audience and subdued their approach.

For those needing a break a quiet area was available with sensory friendly activities including Kinetic Sand. After the show the Blue Man Group came out to take photos with everyone.

Thank you to the Blue Man Group for making the event a night to remember! You can learn more about these events here.
