(July 29, 2014) -- Jason McElwain, a young adult with autism rose to fame 8 years ago after scoring 20 points in 4 minutes for his last and only varsity basketball game for Greece Athena High School. In a recently aired ESPN documentary film they highlight Jason's journey through the eyes of his mother Debbie.
This film is part of ESPN's Nine for IX documentary film series which works in conjunction with ESPN films and espnW to highlight captivating stories of women in sports through their perspectives. Debbie played a crucial part in getting Jason to where he is today and helping him build the confidence to succeed. She also discusses the sacrifies she had to make a long the way.
