Dancing with the Stars' Tony Dovolani Talks Raising Son with Autism

August 21, 2014

(August 21, 2014) - The Huffington Post recently did a story on Dancing with the Stars regular Tony Dovolani. The article didn't focus on his quick feet, instead it delved into his life as a dad. Tony and his wife Lina have been married 14 years and have three children. Their eldest daughter Luana is 8 years old and their boy and girl twins, Adrian and Ariana, are 5. Adrian was diagnosed with autism at 18 months.

Tony told Huff Post he and his wife took the dianosis well.  "It's funny because a lot of the times parents feel sorry for themselves and we didn't feel sorry for ourselves once. We were like, 'Alright, this is what it is and let's find the best help for him. Let's see what we can learn from him.' With every case of autism, there are amazing kids; amazing people and you learn so much from each one of them [tweet this]. We thought, 'Let's see what field he can excel in.' It has been very educational so far."

Tony says he and his wife try not to treat Adrian any differently than their other kids. They even tend to not follow a set schedule in an attempt to ease Adrian's OCD tendencies.
