Bestselling author Elizabeth Hand’s latest release is an e-book version of her former online release “Chip Crockett’s Christmas Carol.” The book follows Brendan, the father of a 4-year-old son with autism, who is having trouble finding the Christmas spirit. Brendan’s childhood friend Tony enters the story as a nostalgic former 1970s punk singer. Brendan, his son Peter and Tony end up on a Dickens-inspired journey to rediscover the magic of Christmas.
Elizabeth Hand is donating the royalties from the “Chip Crockett’s Christmas Carol” e-book to Autism Speaks in honor of special education teacher Anne Marie Murphy. Murphy died in the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting in Connecticut. Read Hand's author's note on the e-book here.
Anne Marie Murphy’s parents have asked that donations in their daughter’s memory be given to Autism Speaks via the tribute page here.
