Atlanta Hawks Host Sensory-Friendly Event for Those with Special Needs

“Let’s Go Hawks!” Over 30 kids with autism and special needs decked out in matching jerseys joined the Atlanta’s Hawks Center/Forward Elton Brand for a special needs basketball clinic on Monday, January 26th. Hosted at Sensations TheraFun in Atlanta a multisensory activity gym kids enjoyed running drills, shooting hoops, and being cheered on by Hawks Cheerleaders. Capping off this great event was a trophy presentation and chance for player photos with Elton Brand.

This event was a cultivation of Autism Speaks national partnership with NBA Cares and the local relationship with Autism Speaks staff/volunteers and the Atlanta Hawks with sensory friendly autism awareness games.
