AS2YP Chicago hosts Double Denim Bar Crawl

May 02, 2013

On Saturday, April 20, 2013, Autism Speaks to Young Professionals Chicago hosted the 5th annual Double Denim Bar Crawl (DDBC) on the streets of Wrigleyville, home of the Chicago Cubs. Over 250 guests decked out in denim packed the bars, purchased raffle tickets, participated in various competitions and most importantly, raised awareness and over $4,700 for Autism Speaks! With a Twitter hash tag as #HugeParty, what else could be expected?

The bar crawl was aggressive in its goals:

1.       Raise $3,000 for Autism Speaks

2.       Make it to all 8 bars

3.       Recruit guests to wear at least 2 pieces of denim

4.       Throw a #HugeParty

Huge congratulations to the committee, especially chair, Ben Warner, for a wonderful job done and success in achieving and surpassing all goals. 2013’s DDBC marked the first year with Double Denim Bar Crawl as an official Autism Speaks to Young Professionals (AS2YP) event. A fun time was had by all, and the 250 strong decked out in denim raised eyebrows, but more importantly awareness.

Here are some major highlights from the day:
