Artist with Autism Sketches Singapore Skyline from Memory

July 21, 2014

(July 21, 2014) - Artist Stephen Wiltshire is known for his incredible memory. He can draw things he sees just once with incredible detail. He became famous when he began using this ability to sketch large panoramas of some of the world's biggest cities. As seen in the video above, Stephen's latest project is Singapore. The 13-foot panorama took him 5 days to complete after a helicopter ride over the city.

Stephen is on the autism spectrum and did not begin speaking until age 5. His artistic talent was obvious at a young age but his fascination with drawing buildings started at 8 years old. HIs past panoramas include world cities like Rome, Tokyo, New York and his hometown, London. The CBS video below tells the story of Stephen's NYC panorama project.
