It was a beautiful day in West Berlin as hundreds of supporters from around the Southern New Jersey area gathered together at Diggerland USA, a construc tion based theme park, on Saturday, March 12th. The park staff were happy to work with our families and supporters privately a week before the season starts. They even offered special discounted rate on membership passes for the 2016 season for families that attended today’s pre-walk event as an extra perk for signing up for the upcoming May Walk.
The morning started with inspiring speeches from self-advocate, Kerry Magro, Autism Speaks NJ Executive Director, Heather Hays, and Walk Co-Chairs Bill Wills and Meggie Kobb. After a pizza lunch and surprising stunt show, veteran walkers and new Autism Speaks Walk teams gathered fundraising tips and passport stamps, along with Walk Day information from fundraising stations while enjoying a sensory friendly environment and free roam of the park.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Southern New Jersey Walk. We cannot wait to see you all at the #AutismSpeaksSNJ Walk on Sunday, May 15th in Bishops Gate Corporate Center in Mount Laurel. With the help of dedicated volunteers, sponsors, resource fair providers, walkers, and teams we can achieve our fundraising goal.
