2014 Sacramento Walk Now for Autism Speaks Recap

September 21, 2014

(September 21, 2014) -- The 7th Annual Sacramento Walk Now for Autism Speaks was held at Raley Field. It was a beautiful day that brought together over 6,000 people to celebrate the autism community and to get information about autism from over 30 service providers and support groups. We were thrilled to be able to walk over the Tower Bridge to downtown Sacramento and back! This year’s event featured entertainment by the 501st Legion Storm Troupers and was masterfully emceed by Ian Shwartz from KOVR-TV. Huge thanks to our Sacramento volunteers for all of their hard work and dedication over the past year to produce an incredible event. We are all so grateful for your time, talent, and commitment to the autism community!

Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to our wonderful sponsors who made this walk possible by donating money, media and in-kind donations; many of them also formed teams. They are 51/50 Energy Drink, Safeway, Trench and Traffic Supply and Balloon Creations by Mike and Carolyn! A special thank you to our national sponsor Toys“R”Us, Babies“R”Us.

Last, but not least, we’d like to thank our photographers from SomethingClick photography for doing such an amazing job capturing the spirit of this year’s event!

Most of all we thank our families for coming out to support Walk Now for Autism Speaks and that someone you love and care about! Through your efforts by fundraising and reaching out we were able to raise over $140,000 dollars for our families here in the Sacramento area.
