2014 Kansas City Walk Now for Autism Speaks Recap

October 11, 2014

(October 11, 2014) - More than 1700 attendees participated in Kansas City Walk Now for Autism Speaks today at Arrowhead Stadium. The weather was beautiful and everyone had fun! Ponch from Mix 93.3 was there to emcee and everyone enjoyed the music and dancing on stage as well as the bounce houses and the Chiefs’ Play 60 training circuit. The Resource Fair was packed: while families learned about opportunities for their loved ones in Kansas City, the younger participants were treated to games, toys, balloons and more from the Resource Fair vendors. The Alpha Xi Delta ladies from K-State were amazing bringing books and toys for all of the kids and volunteering in many of the areas including some of them doing some very creative face painting!

To date, the event raised more than $86,000 in support of Autism Speaks’ mission to fund research, increase awareness and family services and advocate for individuals with autism and their families.
